I had something similar after my initial "regular" braces....I couldn't do traditional braces at first without having a lower front tooth pulled or my jaw broken (Um, no thanks!). So I'm not much help, but my friend seemed to like hers (she did lose one set, though, and it was pricy to replace). They just get a bit weird to talk with, at least mine were. I don't know about Tricare *for sure* but I do believe invisalign is pricier than the United Concordia cap...but that was a few years ago. Try reading up on their website: http://www.tricaredentalprogram.com/tdptws/home.jsp

I just got done with my Invisialign with Tricare. They cover $1500 of the total cost until you are 23 years old if you are a spouse. I turned 23 on April 29...so I just made it!

I've been kind of thinking about getting them when I start recieving tri care as well so this is helpful to know tri care covers part of the cost but the price just may be toooooo spendy for me.

Check out this page.

I had a friend who had Invisalign and she loved it! She's not military and was on her parent's insurance at the time so I can't answer any Tri Care questions! I have Invisalign retainers and I love them because when I was forced to wear them everyday after I got my traditional braces off (I was 16) I actually wore my retainers to prom and you couldn't even tell! Now, five years later, I wear them a couple nights a week, DF doesn't even notice! Good luck getting your questions answered

I hear good things about them too! I would really like to get them for my bottom teeth b/c after I got my braces off, stupid me never wore my retainers, and my teeth have started to get a little crooked again. Maybe it wouldn't be that pricey if I just needed them on the bottom and my teeth really aren't that bad. I may just have to go visit the dentist and see..I'm pretty excited, I didn't know tricare covered any of it!!! woo hoo!!!!

My aunt has invisalign for her bottom teeth only and it has worked wonders! She's been really pleased with them in general. Her teeth are straightening out and it hasn't been too much of a hassle for her, which is important since she has 4 children under the age of 8.

They do not cover any cosmetic orthodontic treatment if you are over 23.

Also to the girl who asked about the cost, it is very expensive! I know it all depends on your problems, but I didn't have very crooked teeth. My bottoms were a tiny bit crooked and my tops barely needed a few months of retainers and the total cost was $4,800. The dentist gave me $500 off if I signed up on the day when the invisialign people were visiting and then tricare covered $1,500. So my out of pocket cost was $2,800.

First.
You need to see if you are a candidate. Not everyone who is in need of orthodontic work can qualify for Invisalign Even if you 'think' your teeth aren't that crooked, a lot goes into it, like your bite and how long it is going to take to complete treatment.

I have heard more people complain about invisalign then regular braces.
I myself was not a canidate for it, so I can only speak for braces. I didn't mind them for the 11 months I had them on
