I am engaged to a guy who is going to bootcamp in the summer of 2012. This is what he wanted to do all his life and i jumped in with him lol. We are both young(18) so i was looking ahead and see if i could make some friends to help me learn about the life.

MCT is only about a month long. The MOS school depends on the MOS. Some schools are just a couple months, some schools are six months to a year long. And that's if he picks up a class immediately, which is rare. Do you know what he's hoping his MOS will be?

actually he has already choosen his mos and its mp and i looked it up and so far i have heard nine weeks

Welcome! MP is exciting You should be able to find information on that pretty easily as far as where the school is / how long. I can't think of anyone on here with an MP spouse, but hopefully one pops up!

Yah that would be weird to be the first lol.

Welcome! I'm still fairly new as well, but my EB has already gone through mostly everything training wise. He did his boot camp in South Carolina and then went to pensacola, and now is in SD doing MOS... hopefully will be hitting the fleet in the middle of March... good luck it's a journey, both marriage and the military!

Two books I've read are "shared courage" by Michelle Keener, and Separated by Duty United in Love by Shelly Vandevoorde. Both from amazon- I liked shared courage because it was written by an actual marine wife
