If he's motor t ( vehicles) I might be able to help. My husband was motor t before he went to EOD. Funsize pretty much answered your questions. :-) My husband and I met freshman year of HS, started dating our junior year and got married a week after graduation. 11 years ago this May. :-D

He works on machines that run aircrafts, and he's mentioned Cherry Hill (or Cherry something) and New River as possibilities and both are in NC, it would still be far from PA, but better because he's in the same time zone FunSize I like your profile pic! My idea of the military (before I met my guy) was really old fashioned because he texts me every day and I didn't realize that he could carry his cell phone around. I know he's not in war, but still I found that odd....good! but odd haha. Will that change once he hits the fleet? Like, will he be more busy or will it still be the same? |

EOD wife- what does EOD mean? You have a very cute story I bet you guys are really great together to be together for 11 years! My parents haven't even been married that long (both are divorced previously)! I have a feeling he will be the one, but it's still early He has friends who got married right out of high school and they are really in love. |

It's hard to say what your communication will be like once he's in the fleet. Generally I'd say you might hear from him during his lunch hour and when he's not working in general. Being that he's dealing with aviation his hours are going to be different. (I had a friend with a husband that deal with mechanics on the birds and there were times he would work overnight.) EOD is Explosive Ordnance Disposal, my husband deals with explosives like the IEDs and such. As for our relationship, it's had its ups and downs but we love each other a lot and are willing to deal with and work through anything! |

Thank you! It's one of my favorite photos from my husband's last deployment homecoming. It's hard to say how busy he'll be or what his work will be like in the fleet. Each unit has it's own way of doing things. We have always lived within 20 mins of my husband's work so that if they get a lunch break he can come home for lunch. He gets a lunch break 50% of the time.. Sometimes they are busy and I wouldn't be able to get a hold of him if I tried, sometimes they are slower and he can shoot me a few texts during the day. Unfortunately that's a wait and see kind of thing. |

What made me really feel like a "new girl" was last night I said "Hoo-rah" instead of "Ooh Rah" and I think I offended him! I didn't know it wasn't spelled with a H so when I texted that, he got all weird about it and was saying that the army, navy, etc does it that way and he's in the better, (harder) branch of the military so don't confuse it. Tell me this, is it really that big of a deal? Are they in the most "elite" group and hardest group? He said that yesterday someone thought he was lookign at them weird and he had to do 90 push ups! |

Tell me this, is it really that big of a deal? haha Yeah, it's kinda a big deal for them,. I wouldn't really worry about it too much, you didn't know and people have done far worse. (I knew a girl that addressed a Colonel as " Hey, bird man!" Her husband about died. lol) You NEVER call a Marine a soldier, because they are not a soldier they are a MARINE and it's never Hooah it's OOO-RAH. Especially when the guys (and girls) are fresh out of boot camp and school they are really "hardcore" about being a Marine. And the DI's and school instructors are much harder on them. After they are no longer "boots" it gets easier on them. |

Oh my goodness I bet he was mortified! haha yes he is really hardcore about his job and we've already had the "soldier" vs "marine" chat too. He got his next assignment yesterday: Cherry Point, NC! I don't know when he'll be going there but I hope to visit him sometime. NC isn't that far away from PA by plane. |

Yay! At least he's on the same coast and in the same time zone (or will be soon anyways.) I think my husband is going to try and get to NC for his next duty station (still a couple years away) We've been to Leguene and didn't like it, so we've discussed Cherry Point. |

I know I haven't been on in awhile, but school has been very busy lately! I can't believe how time flies. My marine will be graduating from school in San Diego hopefully on the 24th and then will be going to Cherry Point!!!
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you, whether you are celebrating with your sweetheart or husband, or like me he is miles and miles away :-) <3 |

I know Im late to this post but i just wanted to say anytime your husband is gone for an extended amount of time you should check out military fares dot com I use that when my husband was TAD to the West Coast for about a year and I stayed here..They saved us a lot of money with airfare |
