We have received orders for Germany, but DH has to attend a 3 month school at Carlisle Barracks first.  We figured we would move out of here and just go with him.  The problem I'm having is housing.  We will send all of our stuff to Germany, so we won't have any furniture, linens, kitchen supplies, etc.  The student housing on post, is that available for 3-month students?  I did find furnished places off post, but they required at least a 6 month lease.  Will our only option be an extended stay hotel? 

I'm guessing most students don't bring their families for such a short course.  We just didn't want to be separated again (DH just got back from a deploy.) and we have to fly out of Maryland anyway.

you will not get BAH for the school location, will not be able to stay on base and you will fund the costs of getting there on your own.

if your going to go- an extended stay hoetl will be your best option.

also your DH needs to inform the finance office that you are living there because you will not be entitled to the sep pay.

We don't mind paying the extra costs. DH is still looking into a few things that will help us decide what to do, but I was able to find an apartment complex that will give us a 3 month lease on a furnished apartment.
