Hello,

I was hoping someone could assist me. My husband recieved orders for Aviano,Italy we are excited about the assignment, however our son has Type 1 diabetes it is well manage with no complications. He only sees the Endocronoligist every 3 months. My question is could his condition be an issue for us to go?

Thanks
Jo

I think that's usually addressed in the EFMP screening, no? I think the general rule is that there have to be medical facilities there sufficient to deal with whatever issues there are. So if you don't want to wait you could maybe do some research on that.

You will have to go through a EFMP screening which means medical and dental. The paperwork is submitted to the command is assigned to for sponsorship and depending on the conditions they can refuse accompanied orders if they feel the facilities cannot handle it.
