i have a question about medical clearance for the AF. My husband is currently at Camp Darby and i am worried about my medical clearance. I have been in a mental hospital before but have been cleared by the Qualified Mental Health Provider and by my doctor for no longer needing services...will this stop me from being about to get cleared?

It shouldn't, if you've been cleared and no longer need services. Even if they don't clear you entirely, as long as there's someone there who could attend to your needs (a psychologist, psychiatrist, whatever you needed) if you needed services again, you should be cleared.

Haha. You're welcome! Now let's just hope I'm right! Seriously, though, as long as there's the ability to get you the help you would need should you need it again, you should be fine.

it actually will depend on when the hospitalization was, if it was recent last couple of yrs they can deny it- if it was longer than 3 yrs ago you will most likely get approved.

I would call the hosipital there and speak to the overseas screening area, they should be able to tell you...
