LOL!  I like the way Tempe is portrayed so much better in the books...find the character a bit too awkward on the show. Monday Moirning is my fave...

Right now I'm reading the Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein

Read the Twilight series because my daughter and a good friend of ours said I had to read them. LOL Didn't have anything else to read at the moment so I did.

Then read Emma, love Austen.

Just finished James Rollins' book The Doomsday Key. It took a bit for me to get into it, but I finally did. It was okay I guess. Just didn't really get me roped into the story, ya know?!

Next up is a Steven Berry book, The Charlemagne Pursuit. I read his books The Amber Room and The Romanov Prophecy. They were pretty good so I'm hoping this one will be good too.

Just finished "my horizontal life" by chelsea handler. I've read all her books, I did it backwards though-starting with "chelsea, chelsea bang-bang" (finished it on my trip to see DH at BCT graduation), then "are you there vodka? Its me chelsea".

If you are looking for a good laugh, I would TOTALLY reccomend them!

I just bought the new Nelson DeMille book Lion!!!! I am so beyond pumped. It is the sequel to the Lion's Game. I had it on my outlook to come out June 10th, but I walked randomly through borders today and it was right in the front of the store!!! I freaked out and of course bought it immediately. My birthday is in two days so it is a little "happy birthday to me" present!! I'll let you guys know what I think, but I already know I will love it as all his books are amazing!

I just finished the wonderful novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. It's about natives in pre-colonial Nigeria and how tribal life "falls apart" when white missionaries arrive. I'm very particular about labeling books as "favorites," but this is one that really got to me. It's definitely on my top-ten list now.

Now I've started An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser. It's a long book (over 800 pages) that spurned the movie A Place in the Sun starring Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift. It's an epic novel of a young man who grew up poor and now craves weath above anything--well, anything besides a love interest. And she must be a beautiful love interest! He meets a girl who fits the bill well enough, but then he meets Sondra (Angela/Taylor in the movie version). Not only is she beautiful, but she's extremely rich. Just as he resolves to dump his current girlfriend, she tells him that she's pregnant. Since the story takes place in the early 20th century, he knows he must marry her. But...what if he could kill her instead, so that she would never bother him again and he'd be free to marry Sondra? The rest of the story is a thrilling mix of heartbreak, disgust, and compassion. (I know, because I've already seen the movie!) The book, I've heard, gives up much more details than the movie, so I'm interested in learning the rest of the story, which was inspired by a true crime event from 1906. Brilliant stuff.

Yes, my life revolves around books, why do you ask?

I just finished two books this weekend! The Vinyl Princess(eh it was alright but no real depth to the plot), and Ethan Frome (a terribly sad story!). I think I'm going to read The Prince now if I can't find anything else.

I'm reading My First Five Husbands- it's Rue McClanahan's biography. I loved her as Blanche on the Golden Girls and Blanche doesn't have nothing on Rue's real life.

OMG!  I read My Horizontal Life and died with laughter so many times.  I let someone borrow it and they haven't returned it.  I need to read the rest of her work, she's great!
