Hi Jasmine,

There are two resources I recommend for you.

1) All branches of the military have School Liaison Officers in each of their locations. They are civilians (some include military spouses) who can provide you with information on neighborhoods near NBSD, and specific schools that they work with. The Navy Liaison officers can be found at http://mwrtoday.com/sandiego/families/schoolliaison/. They are a fantastic resource for military families, as they work very closely with schools in their area to ensure the teachers and administrators understand and have the right resources to support military children. There are several school districts in and around San Diego that they will be very helpful in helping you navigate what is best for you and your children.

2)Greatschools.net. It's another web resource that helps parents compare schools within a particular neighborhood. Based on school information, metrics, user input, etc., each school gets a ranking (10 being the highest).

Good luck with your move, and welcome to San Diego!
