This is your new Home page where you can quickly begin developing your web site.  First, notice the top toolbar on the page gives you the options to View, Edit or Design.  Click "Edit" to edit the web site and "View" to see your work.  Anytime you edit your work and click "Update," your work is automatically saved.

Next, look in the upper-right section of the page and click "Show Control Panel."  Only you, the Administrator, can see that option and it is how you will edit and manage this web site -- so get familiar with it.

The Home page includes:

  • An Announcements section
  • Text and image space
  • An Events Calendar

These function/sections are called "Modules." We encourage you to first play with these features and then add more.  You can add more Modules via the Control Panel. Select the module you want, and then add it to the section of the page where you want it located.  The section with this writing is the Text/HTML module, and it is placed in the Top Pane.

Please play around! You can't break it. And no one is looking this web site until you publicize it.

Changing the Logo -- To replace the logo at the top, create an image or photo and save it as "logo.gif."  The exact title is important.  In the Control Panel, click "Files" and then "Upload" to upload the new logo image. It will automatically delete the old logo and replace it with your image.

Adding pages -- Once you've played around on this page, you can add pages with more functions and tools by first clicking the "Add" icon in the left site of the Control Panel.  Enter the information for the new page, such as the title, and click "Update" at the bottom.  Then start adding modules.  You may prefer that bigger modules, like the Events Calender, be on a page by itself.

Registration -- We encourage you to add a registration page and, in that page, use the Dynamic Registration module.  The module will ask questions about how you wish to set up your registration form and what questions you want to ask your members. For the more ambitious, you can allow your members to pay dues via a PayPal connection directly to your bank, allow Administrators to mark whether someone has paid, and arrange to automatically delete individuals when they are scheduled to PCS rom the command. Users can also self-unsubscribe.

Uploading Users -- You can upload your membership list via an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file using the Interactive User Import module.  Once you have uploaded the users, just delete the module.

CinCHouse.com will offer video and text tutorials soon, but the most important thing you can do is PLAY ON YOUR SITE!  Also, sign up other members of your group to become Adminsitrators and build the site with you.  It's fun, you can't break it, and playing will help you learn. If you really get stuck, checking out the Community Leaders forum on the CInCHouse.com web site or email us at admin@cinchouse.com.
