CinCHouse.com launched a new blog for military women on its site today.  The column, called FEMCOM, will address topics that military women deal with on daily basis from the serious to the insanely funny.

The author works under the pen name “Maggie Haynes,” and the inspiration for the blog came from a small group of females she served with who took to calling themselves the “Feminine Command,” or FEMCOM.  The bonded over shared frustrations, ill fitting uniforms and the pride all felt in being a woman in service to ones country.  The first entry, entitled “Welcome to FEMCOM” deals with the recent controversy over female soldiers getting pregnant while deployed.

“CinCHouse is a site where military spouses and women in the military can talk and share information with one another, but until now we’ve not had a blog or recurring column that focused on just women in the military.  Because so many military spouses are also service members themselves, I think this column will really speak to them and I’m excited to offer a new perspective on the site,” said Meredith Leyva, founder of CinCHouse.com and Senior Director for Women's and Family Initiatives for Military.com

CinCHouse.com is a Military.com website for military spouses, families and women in the military, and the site's name refers to a term used by military families to describe the "Commander in Chief of the House."
