A new White House military family initiative seeks more education and employment opportunities for military spouses, Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joseph Biden, said yesterday.
"One of the things that businesses need to realize is the strength of these military spouses," Biden said during an interview with military bloggers. "Hopefully, we're just going to create this public awareness piece to reach out to all employers."The initiative also wants to encourage all Americans to help military families in their communities. The plan -- called "Joining Forces" -- partners with state and local governments on education issues and
asks businesses to assist spouses and veterans with finding work.
